Sport and Physical activity during COVID-19

It’s become clear that the COVID-19 pandemic isn’t going to end anytime soon. This means that we are going to have to figure out how to live and raise our children when seemingly every action we take carries some risk.
sports can bring great benefits to children, girls, and youths. sports offer opportunities for exercise, which is crucial for health, and also for socialization and learning how to be part of a community. Children need these opportunities, which are particularly lacking during the pandemic.
Sports for Hope and Independence in partnership with BizCare conducted a 10days sports training session under the “Mangrove Children ” project at Kolbari Nexania High School, Munsiganj, Shamnagar, Satkhira. 96 participants actively participated in the training program.

Plant a Tree, get Oxygen for free

Plant a tree, get Oxygen for free. Our Rugby players from Betaga, Bagethat start the initiative to plant 1000 fruit trees in November. Let’s contribute more towards climate action. Sports for Hope and Independence (SHI) will continue tree plantation activity as a regular activity on its schedule and will encourage more communities to plant trees to take part in climate action.

Sport is beyond winning medals and championships. Sport is one of the most unique tools for development and Peace building in society. Ms. Hyunju Lee, Former Officer (Sport on Development and Peace) at United Nations Office on Sports for Development and Peace (UNOSDP)  shared her thoughts and experiences working in sport for development and peace.

Amar Bangladesh by Prof. Dr. Mizanur Rahman

Bangladesh got her independence with the sacrifice of Thirty lakh martyrs and three lakh mothers and sisters who have been tortured by the Paki aggressors. All the citizens had high hopes and dreams for an independent Bangladesh. How much have we been able to fulfill those hopes and dreams?

Respected Dr. Mizanur Rahman (Professor at Law, Dhaka University, former Chairman, National Human Rights Commission, Bangladesh) shared his dream with “Amar (my) Bangladesh”? How can we build the Bangladesh of our dreams by freeing this promising country from national problems?  Sports for Hope and Independence (SHI) has been proud to host Dr. Mizanur Rahman on a virtual session named by “Amar Bangladesh” on 15th July 2020 to educate the younger generation about our history.

Children Education and Sports by Mao Yamaguchi

Sports and physical activities play a vital role in almost all the developmental aspects of child development. Unfortunately, sports and play are rapidly disappearing from schools. As a result, children are suffering from obesity, depression, ADHD, etc. Mao Yamaguchi,  Research Fellow Nippon Sports Science University, Japan conducted a Facebook live session on Children education and sport on 29th June 2020 at 04:00 pm (GMT +6)
