Girls Football Championship held In Sreemanagal

A girls’ football championship was held at Sreemangal . The teams were named “Bengal tiger” and “Gray Wolves”, national animals of Bangladesh and Turkiye. Mr. Sevki Mart Barış , Coordinator, Turkish International Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) was present there as a chief guest along with Mr. Manjor Alahe (TIKA) and Ms. Sharmin Farhana (Founder and CEO) of SHI.

“Grey wolves” won the match by 2-0. The tea garden workers took a day off and worked together to repair the road in order to support and encourage the girls to play football. Our Sincere gratitude to TİKA DHAKA for your kind support to make this happen.

Paul McWilliams conducted on field Coaches training.

Paul McWilliams founder of Sports for Joy, UK traveled to Bangladesh to conduct 7 days long training for coaches and youth leaders. Paul expert in engaging children in sport through creating opportunity to participation, inclusion and using local resources to create game. The Coach and youth leaders have on field and off field learning from Paul.

According to Noyan Mia ” The Ideas Coach Paul shared is very unique. These are small steps towards bigger goal which often we forget. I will utilize my learning in my workplace to ensure participation with any exclusion. ”

Coaches Across Continents Conducted Purposeful Play Training

Sports for Hope and Independence (SHI) Coaches and youth leaders successfully completed purposeful play training course conducted by Coaches Across Continents . Coaches and youth leaders learn how to use sports for Self-directed learning, child rights , mental well-being, Gender equality, female empowerment and SDG’s. The coaches learn self-directed learning, using their own voice, communication, mobilizing resources, value-based leadership, and outside-classroom learning through play. This six days long training session is conducted by Ms. Saraswati Negi and Ms. Nandini Vijay Kumar from Coaches Across Continents.

SHI joined #1000_football campaign

Sports for Hope and Independence (Shi) joined the #1000_football_campaign of Child Development Movement. Football is handed over by the campaign for children. The event was held this morning through a great program. SHI founder and CEO Sharmin Farhana Chowdhury, Head of Sport for Development Pappu Modak, rural football organizer Mr. Jalal Hossain Laizu and coordinator of #1000_football_campaign M Hafizul Islam. The meeting also discussed about how to ensure planned fields for children in town and villages.

Youth leaders and SHI members travelled to the USA for Sports Diplomacy program.

Four of our team members is participated in Youth Leadership Through Volleyball program in Boston, USA. This program is funded by the U.S State Department. participants gone through intensive training of sport, sharing ideas, and learning different aspects of leadership to be a responsible youth leader. our Sincere gratitude to the U.S. Embassy Dhaka for selecting our participants to be part of this program. #ExchangeOurWorld#ylsvolleyball#SportsDiplomacy#uksd#CAC

ELCOP & SHI working together on research on “Street Children of Bangladesh: Making them Visible”

Empowerment through Law of the Common People- ELCOP is going to organize 12th CLR- Community Law Reform Research 2022 in collaboration with Sports for Hope and Independence Bangladesh on the theme “Street Children of Bangladesh: Making them Visible” from October 2022 to January 2023. The CLR program aims to evaluate the situations and lifestyles of the street children on social, economic and cultural aspects in the major cities of Bangladesh.

SHI received Dr B R Ambedkar International Award 2022

Sports for Hope and Independence Bangladesh has been selected for Dr B R Ambedkar International Award 2022 in the category of Sport for Development. The award giving ceremony will be held on 11th October 2022 in Delhi. Sharmin Farhana Founder and CEO, SHI said We are very honored to be awarded to this prestigious award. I would convey my sincere gratitude to all the participants, supporters and well wishers for their kind contribution to get selected for this award .
